Background and History
The Institute for Science and Technology Development (ISCTD) was formed in 2011 as an organization dedicated to the education of students in science and technology as it believes this is necessary for the continued growth and development of society.
Our focus is on achieving global symmetry in science and technology education and research and we believe that encouraging innovation in science and technology, especially in developing countries, will have a lasting effect on a global scale and we are committed to this development.
Today the organization aims to provide financial support in the form of scholarships and awards to over 100 students with low income who have displayed exceptional academic and intellectual skills as portrayed in their school grades, national exams and extra curricular activities. Its assistance is designed to support the students by bearing the cost for entrance examinations into indigenous universities as well as to provide some stipends for a selected few with which to offset the high cost of a university education.
The Institute for Science and Technology Development (ISCTD)'s supports and services includes award for entrance examinations, financial support in the form of scholarships and other awards to cover at least a portion of the cost of college/university attendance. As we mentioned, these students are the future for their countries’ science and technology output and we feel by providing this resource for those with an avid interest and intellectual ability, we will not only fight for their right to good education, but we will encourage the discussion on science and technology debate in the countries we work in.
ISCTD also anticipate working with corporations and other organizations to provide internship and volunteer opportunities for students in our bid to further promote and advance their experience and knowledge in the realm of science and technology.
ISCTD will also offer information and education referral services, and will facilitate some advocacy work to put the plight of these students in the hearts and minds of decision makers, donors and volunteers. ISCTD will work to educate the communities and countries about the importance and relevance of science and technology in everyday lives as well as in national development.
ISCTD is certain this will be beneficial for the future, as science and technology issues are important factors for developing initiative for improving health care provisions, public policy, and economic output.
