Education Investment Program (EIP)
When you look at the African continent, what do you see? When most people look at Africa, there are two very potent and yet opposite images that appear. Some see the continent that is full of problems while others see a land of vast opportunities and untapped possibilities. While some see a dark and unpromising continent, smart investors see the amazing business opportunities that lie beneath Africa’s entire problem.
One of the major sectors whose problems have persisted for many years and which holds our interest as an organization is Education. The standard of Education in many parts of our continent has deteriorated terribly. Poor access to quality education at all levels is a serious problem across Africa.
The poor quality of government education and low investment in the sector put it in a state of severe crisis in many African countries.
Many Africans understand that education is one of the few bridges out of poverty; millions of poor families on the continent are desperate to find good schools for their children. However, the existing schools and training facilities are either unaffordable for many people, not enough to cater to the needs or are ill-equipped even at the existing prices, to cater to the needs of the growing populations.
To solve the problem of inadequate opportunities for affordable quality education, ISCTD launched its Education Investment Program (EIP). The purpose of the program is to connect donors, sponsors and investors from around the world with education institutions throughout Africa. It also aims to improve the education option and facility for the children, especially those from low income households, through this partnership with local education institution. Our value added approach makes the program a lucrative option for both funders and institutions.
